There are many wonderful Mom’s Programs here at St. James. These groups meet at different days and times of the week. One of these groups may meet some of your needs or interests.
Moms & Tots
This is a support group for mothers with (or without) small children (newborn to 5yrs. old) who are not yet in school.Babysitting is provided in a serarate room for any tots that can be parted from their Moms. The room has a carpet, toys and a small bathroom. Tots learn to interact with other children their age. Babysitters are volunteer seniors and any other mothers who have children that have not yet adjusted to the separation. Moms will meet to share ideas & issues related to parenting. Moms also discuss & take part in community service such as sponsoring a less fortunate family for Thanksgiving, Christman & Easter, this is where the Moms will collect money to purchase whatever is needed for the family. The groups also plan special outings for the children such as a Halloween trip to Starkie Bros. Nursery where the children go on a hay ride, paint a pumpkin, have a snack & view and feed the farm animals. There are holiday parties as well.
Monthly dues are $10.00 (at the discretion of the group leader) which covers the cost of appreciation gifts for the babysitters & whatever special needs occur during the course of the year.
Mommy & Me
Moms & their child(ren) who are not yet school age gather for songs, games, crafts, stories, bubbles & fun. Participants are asked to share their creativity, ideas & fun whenever possible. Dues are nominal (at the discretion of the group leader) in order to replenish craft supplies.
