Other Sacraments

Annointing of the Sick

This Sacrament for those suffering serious illness or surgery is available by contacting one of the parish priests at the Parish Office (731-3710) during office hours. In case of serious illness or sudden accident, please call any time. One may also ask for this Sacrament before or after Mass.

Confirmation

The Diocese of Rockville Centre has established a common standard for catechetical formation of young people preparing for the celebration of Confirmation, at any age, and identified essential components of catechetical preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation.

These guidelines outline a well-rounded catechetical preparation for young people in the areas of catechesis, formation in the life of the Catholic community, and Christian discipleship, and are designed to accompany use of an approved Confirmation preparation program.

The immediate goal of our catechesis for Confirmation must be to help young people understand, appreciate, and articulate the basic beliefs of the Catholic faith and the principles of personal and social morality. We also need to lead and support them on their journey toward ultimately making a commitment to the person of Jesus Christ, his Church and to the Catholic Christian way of life.

Holy Orders

The privilege of serving God’s people as a priest, permanent deacon, religious sister or brother is personally fulfilling and spiritually exciting. Anyone who feels they might be interested in the priesthood, diaconate or religious life should speak to a parish priest.

Penance/Confession

Confessions are heard on Saturday from 3:00 to 3:45 in the church.
