At Saint James Parish we have 2 different choirs. There is the Children’s Choir and the Parish Choir. Both Choirs sing at the 10:00am Mass on Sundays on a rotating basis. This allows members to get involved in our Music Ministry with a relatively light time commitment.
Children’s Choir – Our young parishioners are an active part of the liturgical life of our parish through participation in choir at the 10:00am Mass.
Parish Choir – A group consisting of parishioners ages 14 through 99+ who share their gift of music with our parish community during the 10:00am masses. In addition to singing at Mass on a rotating basis at the 10am Mass, the Parish Choir also participates in our Holy Days throughout the year, including Christmas, and the Holy Week liturgies.
Rehearsals for both groups take place at 9:00am, directly before the 10am Mass. Rehearsals consist of reviewing hymns for the liturgies, as well as learning new choral materials: anthems, new hymns and new Mass settings when applicable. Through rehearsing, members will receive proper choral training to enhance their skills which in turn will improve the quality of the choir.
